DGT.C.1.GA2 is seeking to hire one linguistic assistant who will join a friendly, dynamic team and will work in a predominantly Irish-speaking environment.
This position will consist of work in the Unit's secretariat involving a broad range of administrative and linguistic responsibilities which will give the successful candidate an opportunity to master the role of linguistic assistant with Irish, as well as a variety of tools and applications in a Directorate-General known for its innovation in the IT field. Full training will be offered as necessary.
DGT.C.1.GA2 is one of the two Irish Language Units in the Commission's Directorate-General for Translation (DGT). The Unit specialises in the translation of communicative and legislative texts in an expanding number of fields as required by the Commission's requesting services. The Unit also actively participates in other DGT initiatives such as the Juvenes Translatores competition, European Masters in Translation, etc.
