Translation traineeships at the European Economic and Social Committee

Applications are open until 31 March

Institutional translation

Job description

Did you know that the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) offers traineeships in their translation department?

Applications for the EESC traineeships open twice a year, and the applications for the autumn traineeship (September-February 2026) are currently open until 31 March. Trainees in EESC’s Directorate for Translation carry out tasks linked to translation and receive relevant training in a chosen field of interest. Translation tasks mainly include translation of texts relating to the Committee's work and, on occasion, texts from other institutions, with the help of appropriate translation tools.

Trainees are also involved in checking revisions and editing carried out by the translators and assistants in the team in order to improve translation skills. They also manage information concerning translations, particularly by monitoring modifications made to documents and, in certain cases, making the documents publicly available. Trainees may also have the opportunity to undertake terminology work, especially if they have completed or are engaged in studies in areas other than translation.

You can find more information about traineeships in the EESC on their dedicated page.
