Celebrations and events
Each year, on 9 May, the European Union celebrates Europe Day, a moment to commemorate the Schuman Declaration on 9 May 1950. Here, you can read the text of the declaration in all official EU languages.
On this day, peace and unity in Europe are celebrated, and to mark this anniversary, many different events, debates, exhibitions, and initiatives are organised across Europe.
On top of the traditional EU Institutions Open Day - this year, distributed over several days starting on 6 May - there is also a lot going on in Member States: discover all the different activities by EU institution and by country here.
This year’s Europe Day is a special one, as it also marks the official start of the European Year of Skills: find everything you need to know here.
Happy Europe Day from your KCI Team!
