The Permanent Delegation of the African Union to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva seeks an Interpreter/Translator to provide high-quality translation and interpretation services across the African Union’s official working languages, with particular emphasis on English and French. The position supports the Permanent Representative and the work of the Permanent Mission through multilingual communication at conferences, meetings, consultations and other official events.
The successful candidate will provide simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpretation; translate, revise and proofread documents across a wide range of subject areas; ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency with established AU terminology; develop and maintain glossaries and terminology resources; and contribute to the AU’s terminology database. The role also involves supporting the management of translation and interpretation services, identifying best practices, contributing to strategic initiatives and business continuity planning, and supporting meetings and thematic networks related to development cooperation and international relations.
