Revision/post-editing

Translations can either be human- or machine-generated. Revision refers to the process of revising human translations.

Post-editing refers specifically to revising machine-generated translations. It consists of either:

  • light post-editing, focusing on basic understanding
  • full post-editing, focusing on producing clearer, more polished output.

Both aim to improve the quality of translation and ensure it meets specific standards. This involves:

  • correcting errors
  • improving fluency
  • adapting the output for the intended audience.
