DG Interpretation has developed a number of training tools over the years.
Speech Repository
The Speech Repository includes more than 5 000 speeches in over 30 languages to practise conference interpreting. Anyone can access it to listen to speeches in different languages and practise their interpreting.
My Speech Repository
For the universities we collaborate with, international organisations, staff and freelance interpreters working at the EU institutions, DG Interpretation has created My Speech Repository, a restricted part of the Speech Repository with additional functionalities.
My Speech Repository allows users to collaborate with each other by sending invitations to record interpretations of speeches. Thanks to the recording tool SCICrec, users can listen to the original speech and the recording at the same time through 2 audio channels. They can also share the file with other users and ask them for feedback.
My Collections
My Collections is a new feature within My Speech Repository. This section allows universities and organisations, with access to My Speech Repository and with DG Interpretation's approval, to create their own private speech banks whilst keeping all My Speech Repository functionalities.

SCICtrain
SCICtrain is collection of videos that shows how a professional interpreter tackles an interpreting exercise. You can see them practise, receive feedback and discuss the difficulty of a speech or the strategies they have applied to a particular speaker. There are also videos on how to practise, add a language to your existing combination or prepare for and pass an accreditation test.
DG Interpretation training material
DG Interpretation has developed training material that its interpreters can use when they go on teaching assistance visits to universities.
It has also published The Retouriste's Compendium, which lists 100 proto- verbs for interpreters with a retour into English.
ORCIT
ORCIT is an online public library with content in 8 languages about teaching and learning conference interpreting. This project was developed by several European universities, with the financial support of the European Commission.
