DG Interpretation support for conference interpreting trainers
DG Interpretation regularly organises 5-day 'training for trainers' seminars in Brussels. They are aimed at interpreting trainers in partner universities from EU countries and candidate countries.

Who can apply?
Training for trainers is designed for interpreter trainers. To be eligible, you should be a university staff member or an external trainer who plans to continue teaching at your current school for the foreseeable future. Applications are welcome from trainers who are either:
- new to teaching
- new to training interpreters for the EU institutions' interpreting accreditation test.

Impact and feedback
Training for trainer seminars have consistently received very high approval ratings in the surveys carried out, with participants assessing them as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’. These training weeks are not only a capacity building exercise but are also a networking platform and a hub for creating communities of best practices and shaping future curricula.
The seminars are also part of DG Interpretation’s outreach policy, through which it communicate about standards of excellence and transfers know-how to university trainers and, thanks to a multiplier effect, to their peers and students.
