Frédéric Pirotte is the technical compliance team leader at the Directorate-General for Interpretation of the European Commission. He discusses ISO standards - documents defining specifications and best practices for products, services, and systems - in the context of interpretation. 

In his words, "the challenge of technical compliance is to defend the presence of interpreters in the room almost daily".
