Professional skills courses for interpreters

Professional skills

Professional skills courses enable interpreters to:

  • work more efficiently

  • develop certain soft skills

  • train them for particular tasks.

These courses are closely connected with interpretation techniques (e.g. voice coaching, simultaneous interpretation with text) and areas where interpreters work outside the booth (e.g. pedagogical support at universities, participation in recruitment panels, specialised interpretation courses, meeting organisation and preparation).

DG Interpretation organises digital upskilling courses that aim to improve interpreters’ knowledge of technical and digital tools in their everyday work. This ranges from the use of glossaries and preparing for meetings using new tools to cybersecurity awareness and productivity.

DG Interpretation has a pool of interpreters who share their knowledge with their colleagues in these domains.
