About me

Biography

First and foremost, I'm a conference interpreter (F, D, EL>EN) and member of AIIC. I've been on staff at SCIC twice, and am currently a freelance interpreter based in the UK. I've also been a trainer at various universities for 15 years, and I often travel abroad to train interpreting students or colleagues who are looking for a retour refresher course, for instance. My website www.theinterpretingcoach.com offers online courses for aspiring and professional interpreters, many of them CPD-type. For example, I run webinars on subjects such as stress management for interpreters, and a membership site for English retourists, offering weekly live classes, vocabulary and usage tips, grammar and pronunciation exercises, and more. I also founded and run Speechpool (www.speechpool.net), where interpreting students can find and share practice material. As you can see, my interests lie in training, quality, online resources, and stress management.
