The Knowledge Centre on Translation and Interpretation (KCTI): a one-stop shop for translation and interpretation
The Knowledge Centre on Translation and Interpretation (KCTI) is a collaborative platform developed by the European Commission. It draws on the expertise of DG Translation and DG Interpretation, leaders of institutional translation and conference interpreting, respectively.
It is a digital hub for sharing knowledge, good practices and practical resources for those interested in translation, interpreting and language technologies. It also encourages collaboration across diverse communities and sectors.
The KCTI aims to serve:
- Language Professionals: interpreters, translators and trainers seeking information on industry trends and standards, professional development, career opportunities and events. It also offers a space for communication, collaboration and networking.
- Students of languages and aspiring language professionals: looking for tools, resources, and guidance on potential career paths, including in EU institutions.
- Industry & Academia: universities and industry experts interested in collaboration and in showcasing their research
- EU & Public Institutions: policymakers and organisations requiring multilingual solutions for linguistically and culturally diverse environments. Such solutions may include resources on conference interpreting, institutional translation and public service interpreting and translation (PSIT) in institutional, legal and healthcare settings, as well as AI-based language technologies.
